| Public Involvement is an interactive process that
informs the public on the progress of the study while simultaneously
soliciting information on the community’s concerns. A public
involvement program has been designed to encourage your participation
throughout the study. Opportunities for you to become informed and
involved include:
- Stakeholder Meetings
Stakeholder meetings will be held periodically and are comprised
of representatives from municipalities, transportation agencies,
elected officials, local jurisdictions and other affected parties.
View meeting minutes
- Agency & Municipal Meetings
Agency and Municipal meetings will be held to discuss and coordinate
specific project issues with those that would be impacted by
the project.
- Public Meetings/Public Hearings
Public meetings
will be held at key points during the project development phase
to engage the public. The purpose of the meetings will be to
solicit the preferences and opinions of those who participate
regarding the information presented. Questions raised by meeting
participants, depending on the nature, will be either answered
immediately or addressed in subsequent meetings, newsletters
or other communication mechanisms. A public hearing will be
held near end of Phase I.
Comments received at the public meetings will be documented
and the information will be considered as a part of the analysis
and evaluation of the improvement alternatives. Individuals
on the mailing list will receive invitations in the mail announcing
meeting information.
- Newsletters/Comment Forms
Newsletters will be
printed over the course of the study. These publications will
feature the latest project news and will be used as a means
of communicating requests for information about the project.
Please fill out a comment form, as we are interested in your thoughts and ideas. Additionally, if you would like to receive project newsletters and other mailings, please fill out the mailing list form.
- Public Information Hotline
A dedicated phone number (312-803-6750) has been established
to receive input and comments on the project. The design team
will monitor and log the input received and will forward the
information to the appropriate people.
- Website
This website has been developed and will be maintained throughout
the project to communicate current information. It includes
general project information, description of alternatives, mailing
list and comment area, frequently asked questions with answers,
meeting information and project publications and reports.
